Our Labrador Tea is proudly sourced deep within the pristine interior of Newfoundland and Labrador, not picked near some roadway or in a backyard. This authentic Labrador Tea is grown naturally, in the wild, far away from any source of pollution.

Also know as, Bog Labrador tea, Muskeg tea, Swamp tea, Hudson's Bay tea, Big Leaf tea (I'm sure there are others). Labrador Tea is native to the northern hemisphere and grows naturally throughout.
This plant can be used to create many things, however, it is mainly used as a tea which was originally consumed by native Americans.

Don't get confused, not all Labrador Tea is the same. In fact, there are three-species of Labrador Tea:
1. Rhododendron groenlandicum (the one you want)
- bog Labrador tea, previously Ledum groenlandicum or Ledum latifolium.
2. Rhododendron tomentosum
- northern Labrador tea, previously Ledum palustre.
3. Rhododendron neoglandulosum
- western Labrador tea, or trapper's tea, previously Ledum glandulosum or Ledum columbianum.

It is important to note that all Labrador tea contains a terpenoid know as ledol, which is toxic in large doses. However, Rhododendron groenlandicum has the lowest toxicity due to lower levels of ledol, which is why it is more desirable than the others.

BHW offers only Rhododendron groenlandicum.
