Iris is a flowering plant genus of 310 accepted species with showy flowers Iris versicolor, which is native to Newfoundland, is also commonly known as the blue flag, harlequin blue flag, larger blue flag, northern blue flag, poison flag, in Britain and Ireland as purple iris.
