Purple Carrot Seeds Purple carrots contain more antioxidants than they relatives.
Most varieties have the same amount of vitamin A and beta-carotene as orange carrots, but they also contain anthocyanins. Good seed, great carrots!

1. Sowing (a)Plant directly as soon as you are able to work the soil in the spring. (b)Sow 3-4 seeds per 2.5cm (1”) at 5-12mm (¼-½") deep. Space rows 30-45cm (12-18") apart. Cover seeds lightly with soil and water lightly. (c)Thin seedlings so they are about 5 cm (2") apart.
2. Soil Well worked, rich, loose well-drained soil. pH: 6.6-7.5 3. Water (a)Ensure the seedbed is kept evenly moist during the germination period. If bed dries up the seeds will die. (b)Keep the plants evenly watered, weed free and try to avoid high nitrogen fertilizers.
